One issue with the flat earth thing is with gravity. In order to work out the gravitational field created by a hypothetical solid at a given point, you divide up the solid into n cubes, calculate the field vector from each cube, and add them together.
Because there is equal mass either side of a person on the surface of a sphere, the gravitational field is vertically down (ie. all horizontal components of all cubes add to zero).
In the case of an infinite plane, this would also be the case.
However David Chase Taylor proposes a disc model (like a discus) where at 6 points this would be true, but otherwise there would be an uneven mass either side of the person on the surface. Objects wouldn't fall directly down but at an angle.
The infinite plane thing is wrong because we can see ship sails before the bottom of the ship as the boat comes over the horizon. Hence we know earth is curved.

One of the problems with the above is "how do you know what is vertically down?"
Usually you use a plum-line to get that, which depends on gravity.
Anyway flat earth stuff is kinda dumb imo why do we see the tops of tall ships first as they come over the horizon if it is flat? Also high altitude flights you can see the curvature.
If your mo is "people who disagree with me are always shills" you will wind up believing stupid stuff because
1) shills know reverse psycology
2) people disagree with stupid stuff

In fact there's a way to disprove the 'discus' shaped earth. At the poles of the earth g is smaller due to the earth not being a perfect sphere. But the variation in g should be much greater for a discus earth. So just get people all over the world to measure g (by measuring how long a object takes to fall down a certain distance and using linear equations of motion to measure a=g assuming friction is zero) and see if it is consistent with the 'discus' or globe model.
